Privacy Policy

This policy explains how SYSTEM 49 PTY LTD("SYSTEM 49", "we", "us") handles personal information in connection with the ALKANE application and this website (system49.com.au), in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). The application and the website handle data differently, and each is covered in its own section.

The ALKANE application

Every calculation in ALKANE executes on your device. No gas composition, process value or thermodynamic property you enter is uploaded to SYSTEM 49 or any remote server.

Saved composition profiles, module configurations and vessel presets are stored locally on your device so you can recall them later. They are not transmitted to SYSTEM 49 or anyone else, and are removed if you delete the application.

Subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play, which process your payment under their own privacy policies. SYSTEM 49 does not receive your payment details. Subscription status is managed through RevenueCat, a third-party subscription platform, which receives an anonymous app user identifier, your purchase and subscription history, and basic device and platform information, so that your subscription can be recognised on your device. RevenueCat never receives anything you enter into a calculation.

This website

This website does not use cookies, tracking scripts or an analytics platform. Standard web server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) are generated by our hosting provider as a normal part of serving the site.

If you submit the enquiry form on the Contact page, the details you provide (name, email, company and message) are delivered to SYSTEM 49 by Web3Forms, a third-party form-delivery service. We use them only to respond to your enquiry and keep them only as long as needed for that purpose and to maintain a record of our correspondence.

If this website's data practices change, for example if analytics or cookies are introduced, this policy will be updated before the change takes effect.

Disclosure and overseas transfer

SYSTEM 49 does not sell personal information. We disclose it only to the service providers named in this policy, to the extent necessary to operate the Service, or where required by law.

These service providers may store or process personal information outside Australia, including in the United States. Where that occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information is handled in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

Access and correction

You may request access to, or correction of, personal information SYSTEM 49 holds about you by contacting us through the Contact page. We will respond within a reasonable period.

Complaints

If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact us through the Contact page with details of your concern. We will investigate and respond in writing within thirty days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page.
