Validation & Verification
ALKANE includes a built-in V&V Diagnostics module: automated engine checks against published reference data. It reproduces published reference values (NIST data, GPA/API reference cases and textbook worked examples) and reports whether ALKANE's engines match them. Its checks are organised into seven suites: fluid mechanics, mixtures, gas quality, orifice metering, instrumentation, hydrate, depressuring.

How the checks run
The suites run on the device from ALKANE's V&V Diagnostics screen. Each case is reported against its cited reference: the reference value, the value ALKANE computes and the deviation between them, including any case that does not pass. A run can be exported as a PDF report.
