Software & Engineering Disclaimer
ALKANE performs professional engineering calculations to established methods and published standards. It is a calculation tool, not a certified design basis, and it does not replace the advice of a suitably qualified professional engineer. Every result should be reviewed by a qualified engineer before it is relied on for an engineering, operational or safety decision.
Different modules carry different scope. Blowdown, for example, states plainly that it is not a certified design basis and is not intended for relief valve or orifice sizing, flare header loading studies, or MDMT/fitness-for-service decisions. Others follow a named engineering standard closely but still stop short of a certified result — Valve Cv Solver's cavitation check, for instance, does not replace manufacturer trim-material selection for severe service. Each module's own page on Solutions states its specific scope and limitations; this disclaimer is the general statement that applies across all of them.
Where a module's engine has been checked against published reference data, that is stated on the module's page and the results are shown on Validation & Verification. A module with no listed verification suite makes no verification claim at all — its page describes its method and source standard only.
No module in the ALKANE suite is intended, marketed, or verified for safety-critical design decisions — relief system sizing, fire-case analysis, fitness-for-service assessment, or similar. Under no circumstances should any ALKANE result be used as the basis for one. Those decisions require a certified design calculation, carried out and owned by a qualified engineer using methods established for that purpose.
Nothing on this website or in the ALKANE application constitutes professional engineering advice. Use of any result from ALKANE for an operational, safety, or regulatory decision is the responsibility of the user and the qualified engineer reviewing it.
